Bio-Pura is a bioplastic made from olive oil, converted from discarded olive pits. While it takes at least 450 years for typical plastics to decompose, this olive-based plastic decomposes within only 1 year. Approximately, 5 tons of locally sourced olive seeds can be turned into 3.5 tons of bioplastic. Supplied as plastic granules, this material can be used with injection molding and can also be colored. Replacing 1 kg of traditional plastic with the same amount of Bio-Pura can reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 6 kg. Common applications include consumer electronic casings, automotive interiors, toys, and packaging.

EcoAllene, takes once unusable food and beverage carton waste and transforms them into 100% recyclable resin. Previously, the discarded polyethylene and aluminum elements went into the landfill, but Ecoplasteam has developed a patented process to melt these elements into an upcycled raw material. Supplied as pellets, they have a slight metallic sheen due to the leftover aluminum particles and can easily be colored. Just like other polymers, the pellets can be processed with extrusion and injection molding. Applications include automotive, flooring, giftware, toys, and general tools.

Woodio is the world’s first waterproof solid wood composite. It’s made from a blend of resins and woodchips formed in a special mold, in which the elements are mixed in a particular order under unique conditions. The resulting color depends on the resin used, which can range from transparent to translucent red, orange, and blue. Regardless of color, the random orientation of the wood chips provides a 3D-like aesthetic effect. This process also makes the composite waterproof by closing off the wood’s pores. Current applications include bathroom products, such as wash basins and tiles.
