ASTM C501 Resistance to Wear of Unglazed Ceramic Tile by the Taber Abraser
The ASTM C501 test method is a standard of the American Society of Testing and Materials (ASTM) that measures the potential resistance to wear of unglazed ceramic tiles using a taber abraser. The scope of testing involves subjecting a tile specimen to a defined number of revolutions or cycles, under weighted abrasive wheels of a specified coarseness level. When the cycles have concluded, the specimen is checked and rated based on the loss of weight resulting from abrasion.
