BugBeat: Gives Waste Glass a New Life

BugBeat is an absorbent stone cube manufactured from waste glass that has a highly porous structure used to absorb scent oils. The small cubes are created from waste scrap glass from the glazing industry, combined with a small amount of soda ash (about 1 wt%). The waste silica is compacted and heated to fuse the material into highly porous bricks that are then cut to size. As a multi-use product, once the fragrance runs out the user can re-add the scent over and over again.

Six standard colors are offered; Blue, Brown, Green, Grey, Pink, and Yellow. Other colors are available with customization, as well as different sizes and shapes. They are sold in 30-piece boxes and find application as scent oil diffusers for interiors.
